Privacy Policy Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of Pico ("Pico", "we", "us"). By downloading or using Pico, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Pico.

What Pico is

Pico helps you walk more and scroll less. You earn Energy by walking or doing push-ups or sit-ups, spend it to unlock the apps you choose to block, and collect puzzle pieces to discover new worlds. Pico uses Apple Health and Apple's Screen Time tools to do this.

Your health

Pico is a wellbeing app, not a medical device, and it doesn't give medical advice. Step goals and suggestions are general and may not suit everyone. Talk to a doctor before changing your activity if you have a health condition or any doubt. Walk safely: stay aware of your surroundings and never use Pico while driving. Only do push-ups or sit-ups if you're able to, on a safe surface with space around you, and stop if anything hurts.

How blocking works

Blocking relies on Apple's Screen Time system and the permissions you give Pico. We work hard to make it reliable, but iOS controls when blocks start and end, so an app can occasionally open or re-block a little late. Blocks can also be removed by changing permissions in iOS Settings. Pico is a tool to support your habits, and it isn't guaranteed to prevent access to any app.

Your iPhone and permissions

Pico needs an iPhone and iOS version it supports, and access to Apple Health and Screen Time to work fully. Push-ups and sit-ups also need camera access. You can turn these off at any time, but some features will stop working.

Subscriptions

Pico offers a Yearly and a Weekly subscription.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm your purchase.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country. If a price changes, Apple will tell you in advance, as its rules require.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • If a free trial is ever offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.

Energy, puzzles and worlds

Energy, puzzle pieces, worlds and other in-app progress have no monetary value. They can't be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and they exist only to make Pico work. We may adjust how they work to keep Pico fair and working well.

Your progress

Your progress is stored on your iPhone and, if iCloud Backup is on, in your own iCloud account. Deleting Pico without iCloud Backup, using Reset Pico, or problems with your device or iCloud can mean progress is lost, and we can't restore it for you.

Fair use

Please use Pico only for its intended purpose. Don't copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell it, try to get around its subscription, or use it in a way that breaks the law.

Ownership

Pico, including its characters, artwork, animations, worlds and text, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Pico on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by Apple's Usage Rules. Nothing in these terms gives you any other rights in Pico.

Changes to Pico and these terms

We may update Pico, add or remove features, or change these terms. If we make important changes to these terms, we'll update the date at the top and let you know in the app. If you keep using Pico after a change, you accept the updated terms.

Ending your use

You can stop using Pico at any time by deleting it (remember to cancel your subscription in iOS Settings too). We may suspend or end your access if you seriously break these terms.

Our responsibility to you

We provide Pico "as is" and "as available". We're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, for problems caused by Apple's services, iOS, your device or your internet connection, or for anything that happens because you relied on Pico instead of your own judgement. As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid for Pico in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Pico or its content.

  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Pico.
  • If Pico doesn't meet any applicable warranty, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Pico.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims about Pico, including product liability claims, claims that it doesn't meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection claims.
  • If anyone claims that Pico infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with it.
  • You confirm that you aren't located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and you aren't on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • You must also follow any third-party terms that apply when using Pico, such as your mobile provider's.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
